One of the challenges in life is not to take things to heart and hold
on it making it part of your story.
All of us tend to do this as we go through life, especially when we are
younger and less aware of what is happening, or if we are more sensitive than
others. We tend to take on others
negative energy and give others power over us by the things they say and do
that hurts or upsets us. It is difficult
not to react in anger and hurt when something happens. And if this goes on over a period of time, we
start feeling lower and lower because our energy is being taken away by the
people who are attacking us from all directions, making it increasingly
difficult for us to recover our balance and energy. This can eventually bring us to the point
where we feel we cannot continue to act and speak from our truth.
What we have to keep in mind and remember when someone does something that
is hurtful and upsetting is that they are acting out their story; their attacks
and criticisms of others have more to do with themselves than the person they
target for the attack. If we allow
ourselves to get caught up in the attacker’s story, we are giving them power
over us and allowing them to take away our positive energy and lose touch with who
we really are.
When faced with such situations, I believe the best thing to do is to
be aware that we don’t have to take on the attacks and the negative energies
that it brings; that we can take the opportunity to strengthen our own core
sense of self and learn to deflect and dodge the misguided negativity. The one thing to remember as we are
deflecting the negative energy is to ask the angels to transmute it to love so
that it does not harm anyone else. And
as we keep doing this we will learn to keep our power and not take on the other
person’s negative issues. With practice
we can become masters of our own energies and refuse to serve as targets for
the anger and frustrations of those around us.
Eventually as we do this we will be able to listen and understand what
others are saying and doing and be able to take in positive and constructive criticism
and release that which we do not want.
And so making it like water rolling off a duck’s back, we just let it
roll off our back and carry on in our own integrity and truth.
In Love and Light
I enjoyed reading this post. Thank you for shedding light on how not to take on or get consumed by others' negative energy and the importance of being masters of our own energies.
