What is forgiveness? What does it mean to forgive someone?
We are all taught as we grow up that forgiveness is one of the virtues
and we should forgive those who hurt us. I had a Christian upbringing and
therefore know the line from The Lord’s Prayer – Father, forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. Forgiveness is a very important theme and all
religions preach this.
But what does this actually mean?
How do we actually transcend all the negative emotions that we feel
towards someone and move towards Love to accept what has been done and hold no
ill wishes towards the other?
I saw the following clip by Neale Donald Walsch that is thought
provoking and gives insights into how we can forgive others.
